Subscription Boxes

Photo provided by author

Since about August, I began subscribing to various services that provide a product/products every month. It’s so much fun receiving them and being surprised by what they contain! Some subscriptions offer sneak peeks of the current month’s content, but I like the element of surprise so I don’t read those posts or click the links.

I’ve tried 2 different yarn boxes/subscriptions (I’m a crocheter/yarn addict), one for clothing, one for beauty products, and one for the dog. (As you can see from the picture, Rudy likes to open the boxes himself.) It seems that there are boxes for everything: coffee, tea, books, socks–you name it.

After about 4 months of subscribing, I’ve canceled my yarn subscriptions. My stash is overloaded! When I run low, I’ll resubscribe.

Have you or would you sign up for a subscription? If you have, what was your experience?

  1. They sound like such a cool idea. I’ve never tried doing a subscription myself because I don’t want to end up spending money on stuff that I don’t really need.

    1. I know what you mean. But there are so many out there that you may find the right one for you. There’s one called Coffee & A Classic 🙂

    1. I think you’d really like the yarn subscriptions! My favorite is (and I’m not being paid to say this)
      KnitCrate 🌻

  2. are they expensive? Ive heard of different ones before and have always been curious

    1. The prices vary depending on the type of subscription. There’s Birchbox (I’m not getting paid to say this), which contains beauty product samples and is $10/month. My favorite yarn subscription is KnitCrate, which is $25/mo. I hope this helps! 🌻

  3. That sounds fun! I think I’d like it and enjoy looking forward to it, but I don’t really have the money at the time. If I need or want something specific, I’ll just buy it individually.
