Current Mental Health – August 2020

I feel a tiny bit better than I did 2 posts ago. But the current cultural climate, and more personally, the pain that shoots from my shoulder down to my elbow now (such fun), are taking their toll.

I’m still not showering regularly, though I’m forced to for acupuncture appointments; I can barely wash my hair every day, which I have to if I want the hair loss products to work (yes, I’m losing some hair, no thanks to lithium); every single, little thing annoys me; I’m pushing the time I take trazodone later and later because it makes me sleep, but I want to stay up all night. And I don’t want to do anything, not even go to acupuncture because that would mean I’d have to leave my house.

And speaking of acupuncture, my acupuncturist feels that he is unable to provide relief from my pain, so he referred me to the acupuncturist who he himself visits. I haven’t seen her yet, but I will in next week. Fingers crossed that she’ll be able to help.

      1. Hey Barb, well hopefully it can be remedied so as to improve your health. My shoulder ”’is”’ better but l think in truth it will always be damaged now. The integrity was broken and like a vase, it can be fixed, but will never have the same strength or even flexibility anymore.

        1. Yes, I hope so. It has really affected my quality of life, and that is contributing to my depression. I’m sorry to hear about your arm. Did you have surgery?
